About Panufnik Biela

Iwona Biela Panufnik was born and grew up in Poland living her adult life around the world in places like Paris, Lausanne, Singapore and various cities in the United States, spending last 10 years of her life in Belgium. It was while living in Belgium that she attended an art school and traveled around Europe. During those travels she had the opportunity to admire master pieces of the greatest artists including Rodin, Donatello, Michelangelo, Bernini, Brancussi or Rubens, which shaped her taste and style in art. Quickly she learned how to meticulously capture features and resemblance in surrealistic portraits sculptures (the portrait collection) or showing emotions in figurative sculptures and the beautiful forms in her music or animals collections. Her whole work evolved towards cubism, showing more modern line and characteristic to the artist curves and sharp breakdowns in the forms. She has been awarded for her works several prices at the international expositions that included Société National des Beaux Arts at Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, The International Art Fair Linear in Ghent, Société National des Artistes Animaliers in Bry sur Marne, or Lib’Art International Art Fair in Libramont, Belgium. In 2011, during the Salon International des Artistes Contemporains, the city of Saint Tropez in France awarded the artist first prize in the sculpture category for her entire creativity. Lately she has settled in a remote area of the country site in order to fully concentrate on her creative ideas.
